Round Two

Round Two

Sept. 13-15 on the AUBG campus.

  • This section provides a breakdown of the question types you'll encounter on the exam. The questions are grouped into categories based on the type of response required. Each question may be worth a different number of points depending on the category, and there may be restrictions on the total points achievable within each category.

    • Multiple-choice questions, between 2 and 3 points each
    • Open-answer questions, between 3 and 5 points each
    • Proof-based problems, between 4 and 5 points each
    • “Wild card” questions, a small number of bonus points in total
  • In this discipline, you and your teammates will solve a social or environmental problem and present your solution.

Each team of four Questers will present solutions to social problems in a 10-minute presentation plus a 5-minute Q&A session in front of a jury composed of AUBG students, alumni, professors, and staff with expertise in social and sustainable entrepreneurship. This category of the AUBG MultiTalent Quest assesses entrepreneurial thinking, teamwork, working under pressure, and presentation skills. Teams receive a single score that contributes to individual final rankings, emphasizing the importance of collaboration. Participants are assigned topics on Friday evening, must form teams, and prepare their solutions by the next morning, culminating in presentations.

  • Two teams of 3 or 4 people debate on a provided topic in an 18-minute round, with topics announced at the Opening Ceremony on Friday evening.

Debating combines research, public speaking, argumentation, strategy, and teamwork. Each member of your 4-member team will have 4 minutes to speak, either building and defending your case (Proposition) or refuting the opponent's case (Opposition). Debates are conducted in English, with 4 judges per jury, and a total debate time of 32 minutes (4 minutes x 8 speakers). No points of information are allowed. Individual scores are based on content (25%), strategy (25%), and style (50%). Debate outcomes do not affect individual scores. Teams receive one of the predetermined topics on Friday night and must prepare arguments for both sides.

  • Each participant will get up to 5 minutes to demonstrate their set of artistic skills in one of the following arts:

    • Performing: acting, dancing, singing, playing an instrument, reciting, stand-up comedy, magic tricks, other performing artistic forms
    • Creative: writing (poetry, prose), painting, photography, videography, designing, other creative artistic forms
  • Participants will be asked to demonstrate their skills in a specially created 8’s Challenge that will test their endurance, balance, agility, speed, and strength.

What is a QuestCV?

Craft your CV to stand out! Here are some ideas to get you started (but feel free to personalize!)

  • Create a short video introducing yourself. Discuss your strengths, interests, and achievements. Consider including footage of yourself engaging in activities relevant to your CV, such as participating in school projects, volunteering, or pursuing hobbies. This will help us get a well-rounded picture of who you are.

  • Create an interactive presentation using platforms like Prezi, Adobe Spark or Canva. Include sections for your education, extracurricular activities, skills, and accomplishments. Use visuals, animations, and clickable elements to make it engaging.

  • Design an infographic-style CV using tools like Canva or Piktochart. Present information such as your academic background, skills, experiences, and interests in a visually appealing format. Incorporate icons, charts, and graphics to make it visually stimulating.

  • Build a personal website showcasing your CV. Include sections for your bio, education, work experience, projects, and contact information. You can add multimedia elements such as videos, images, and interactive features to make it dynamic.
