Digital Fundraising and Media Coordinator

The American University in Bulgaria is seeking a Digital Fundraising and Media Coordinator. The position is a part of a cross-functional development team responsible for managing AUBG’s online presence, and raising money through digital channels to support the university’s life-changing work, as well as the Center for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship (CIDC). Reporting to the Senior VP of Development and the Executive Director of the Center for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship (CIDC), the Digital Fundraising and Media Coordinator will support the execution of digital fundraising campaigns and projects, as well as manage the design and content of the CIDC website and social media channels with the goal of continuing to grow and optimize this crucial source of revenue and exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising

  • Support the execution of a cross-functional digital fundraising strategy which includes email, social media, paid ads, web giving.
  • Manage a variety of digital projects including fundraising platform optimizations, cross-channel, campaign development, email and web testing, and more.
  • Work closely with Development, the CIDC, and Communications staff members along with outside consultants to ensure that digital fundraising projects are completed on deadline and with high quality.
  • Report on the effectiveness of digital fundraising efforts through regular data analysis and report-outs.
  • Monitor digital fundraising platforms to maintain proper data hygiene and troubleshoot any errors.
  • Manage a rigorous QA process that ensures that all public-facing projects are error-free and on-brand.
  • Assist in managing relationships with grassroots supporters, with a particular emphasis on converting and retaining loyal donors and cultivating peer-to-peer fundraisers.
  • Support the CIDC’s Newsletter outreach.

Media Management

  • Manage the content and updates to the CIDC website.
  • Post and monitor content across all social media channels.

Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-year experience, including some experience working on digital fundraising, and engagement programs.
  • Familiarity with digital fundraising and marketing best practices.
  • Experience writing and editing direct response appeals.
  • Working knowledge of CRMs (Raiser’s Edge) and other digital fundraising platforms QGiv, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Experience with SMS marketing or fundraising.
  • Experience producing and analyzing reports focused on digital fundraising KPIs (response rate, conversion rate, retention rate, etc.)
  • Strong writing, digital and visual communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of UI and UX design (desirable).
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Experience with newsletter design and distribution platforms.
  • Graphic design skills and proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
  • Experience with ecommerce is a plus.
